Per contare qualcosa in un azienda bisogna diventare capi, non importa capi di cosa l´importante per dirla in termini tecnici e´ “gestire risorse”.
A volte si possono presentare delle scelte nel corso della propria carriera: e´ meglio continuare lavorare nel proprio settore preferito con la speranza di diventare capo del proprio settore o e´ meglio, quando si crea la possibilita´, diventare capo, magari anche di un settore non proprio gradito.
Il consiglio e´ “DIVENTA CAPO APPENA PUOI”….le aziende spesso non hanno logiche precise, sono spesso come barche alla deriva nel mare del business.
Nulla esclude che il tuo settore venga ridimensionato in seguito ad eventi esterni o che cambino le condizioni di crescita della tua azienda e tu debba rimanere bloccato anni nella vana speranza di crescere.
Cambiare settore e diventare capo, ripeto…magari anche di un settore non proprio gradito, ti consente di salire la scaletta e di guadagnare esperienza e punti che ti serviranno in futuro.
Anche nel corso delle selezioni, tu potresti essere valutato molto bene per le tue competenze ma il fatto di non avere ma gestito risorse sara´ sempre visto con sospetto.
In effetti una ragione precisa c´e´…la gestione della risorsa umana e´ davvero complessa.
Avete presente quelle squadre di calcio fatte di stelle, tipo il Real Madrid dei Galacticos, che alla resa dei conti non hanno vinto quasi nulla.
La colpa in quel caso e´ da attribuire all´allenatore, il capo, che non e´riuscito a farsi rispettare e non ha messo ogni galactico nelle condizioni di dare il meglio.
La stessa cosa vale per il capo di azienda, senza valutare le proprie competenze specifiche che sono certamente importanti, deve essere in grado di conoscere I propri uomini, motivarli e tirare fuori il meglio da loro.
Il capo mediocre difende la posizione, inizia ad avvertire un complesso di inferiorita´ verso il proprio dipendente che, nella sua testa, a breve potrebbe sostituirlo.
Se vi trovate ad avere un capo mediocre, dovete saperlo affronatare con intelligenza…voi non siete mediocre e la vostra forza sta in questo.
Dovete guidarlo nelle sue scelte senza che lui se ne renda pienamente conto, deve avere sempre l´impressione che, alla fine la decisione passa da lui.
Dovete sempre dargli la tranquillita´ di non volergli fare le scarpe e pian piano da un atteggiamento istintivo mediocre di diffidenza passera´ dalla vostra parte e vi dara´ sempre maggiore autonomia.
Quando un capo mediocre vi chiama a rapporto, dovete mostrarvi sicuri e precisi…appena intravvede un vostro dubbio o una vostra incertezza, coglie l´occasione per dire la sua, per dare il suo consiglio.
In generale il consiglio consiste nel rifare una certa cosa in maniera piu´ lunga e tortuosa per essere davvero sicuri del risultato.
Se il risultato della vostra analisi veloce intuitiva e precisa corrispondera´ con quello della strada lenta e tradizionale da lui proposta allora si tranquillizzera´.
Poiche´ nel 99% dei casi questo aggravio di lavoro non e´ necessario, cercate di stroncare sul nascere ogni sua velleita´.
Molto spesso il capo mediocre e´ansioso perche´ e´ consapevole della sua mediocrita´ e ha paura di trovarsi scoperto di fronte ad alcune incombenze.
Pur se siete cosapevoli che a volte le sue anise sono ingiustificate, dovete necessariamente assecondarle per mantenere un buon rapporto.
Anche se voi state terminando lo studio piu´importante e ambizioso che potrebbe portare benefici reali all´azienda, quando in preda ad una crisi di ansia, vi chiede di mollare tutto per effettuare la decima verifica su un argomento vecchio di anni…Mollate tutto.
Al limite lo potete prendere un po´in giro e fare questa decima verifica in maniera superficiale, se siete sicuri del fatto vostro ma dovete comunque fargli capire che state rispettando le priorita´ imposte da lui.
Cercate comunque di evitare che lui diventi troppo dipendente da voi, correreste il rischio di rimanere bloccati per anni nella stessa posizione e che lui non vi offra opportunita´ di crescita.
Fissate pertanto rapporti chiari: io sono qui e do il meglio anche nel tuo interesse, mi aspetto pero´ che fra un anno le cose evolavano in meglio, sono disponibilissimo a formare qualche potenziale sostituto.

Il capo professore invece agisce in maniera diversa, e´ assolutamente convinto di esservi superiore per la sua notevole esperienza e ama dispensare consigli e saggezza.
In alcuni casi si tratta di figure poco concrete che con il pretesto di insegnare ai propri discepoli, perdono di vista l´obiettivo.
Ti possono tenere anche due ore a correggere una relazione di analisi su una certa problematica divagando spesso su casi reali della loro esperienza passata.
Io nel 1979, in una situazione analoga, ricordo che…allora come vedi…
e la cosa peggiore e´ che spesso infarciscono il racconto di episodi piuttosto insignificanti…
Mi trovavo di fronte ad un muretto…uno di quelli costruiti a secco in pietra viva… hai presente…
In questi casi la lezione te la devi subire tutta anche se magari hai una decina di attivita´ urgenti che ti attendono.
Ma in quel momento il capo professore ha deciso di mettere te e la tua formazione al centro, di dispensare consigli professionali e di vita per il tuo bene, e tu non puoi essere scortese…
Anzi se mostri una certa impazienza per andare a fare il vostro dovere, perche´ magari ci sono altre quattro persone che vi stanno aspettando per una riunione importante…vi fulminera´ “Allora non hai capito niente della vita, quello che ti sto dicendo e´piu´ importante di qualunque altra cosa”.
In linea di massima questa tipologia di capi sono quelli a fine carriera che si trovano a comandare in situazioni transitorie o perche´ hanno ricevuto l´ultimo contentino…e´molto probabile che durino poco perche´ questo loro modo di fare, poco grintoso, non porta risultati.
Il capo assente invece vi tratta come un libero professionista, questo e´ il problema, mi fido di te…fammi vedere cosa sai fare.
Probabilmente una volta acquisita una certa esperienza allínterno di un´azienda puo´diventare una situazione privilegiata.
Godi i vantaggi di una certa autonomia e gestisci le tue attivita´ e I tuoi progetti con I tuoi tempi e le priorita´ che ritieni opportune.
L´inconveniente di questa gestione e´ che il tuo capo e´ appunto assente, segue da vicino solo le attivita´ in cui e´ chiamato in causa direttamente e non conosce nel dettaglio quello che fai.
Quando allora succede qualche guaio, si verifica qualche intoppo nella tua ativita´ e si viene chiamati ad un tavolo di verifica…ti senti appunto solo.
Magari senza cattiveria da parte sua, ti rendi conto che ti puo´ dare un contributo molto limitato a supportare le tue posizioni a causa della scarsa conoscenza della materia.
In questi casi puoi pertanto rischiare di bruciarti, di essere cioe´ mandato allo sbaraglio su un argomento piu´ grande di te.
Appena percepisci questo pericolo, devi iniziare a martellarlo, per farlo diventare padrone della materia e per coinvolgerlo direttamente nelle scelte piu´ delicate.
Non devi dare l´impressione di non sapertela cavare da solo bensi´ di essere talmente preparato di aver compreso che l´argomento sta diventando scottante e occore definire insieme una strategia.
Il capo assente, per la sua mentalita´ da libero professionista, in genere, se si presentano opportunita´ di crescita e ha fiducia in te, e´ generoso ed e´disposto a perdere il tuo prezioso contributo quindi ti propone per altri incarichi di responsabilita´ all´interno dell´azienda
Veniamo infine al capo in prima linea. Il capo in prima linea vuole essere sempre presente, e´ una persona in carriera che vuole dimostrare la sua efficienza e la sua presenza ai suoi superiori.
E´ preparato e supporta I suoi uomini al meglio, il suo uffcio e´ sempre aperto, da lui sai di poter imparare davvero.
Per una persona in una fase di apprendimento e´ il capo ideale perche´ diventa un modello da imitare e funge inoltre da stimolo, in genere lavora sodo ed e´l´ultimo a lasciare l´ufficio, ci crede e ci tiene a quello chef a.
Se vogliamo individuare un difetto e´ quello di metterti in ombra. Tutte le alter realta´ aziendali proprio perche´ e´un capo in prima linea tenderanno a crecare sempre lui, a concentrare tutte le richieste su di lui che poi provvedera´ a distribuirle fra I suoi uomini.
Nella sua versione piu´illuminata il capo in prima linea cerchera´ di individuare un suo successore morale per due motivi: primo per non dovere mai essere considerato insostituibile e quindi rimanere schiavo del ruolo e secondo per avere una persona di cui fidarsi nei moment in cui il carico di lavoro diventa insostenibile anche per le sui enomi capacita´.
